I'm not any of the guys arguing above, but they did get me curious so I made this comparison. Mondo feels like it got the squat stoutness of the body right, NECA's looks lean and lanky by comparison. NECA's neck feels too long, and the head too small. And Mondo seems to have nailed the eye shape better, and IMO the head shape as well (NECA's looks a bit too...pointy in the dome).
It's funny, if we take the figures by themselves without comparing them, I'd probably say I like the NECA better. I don't really dig the Mondo too much honestly. But if we're talking accuracy to the 1st appearance Turtles, I think they got a little closer in a couple of ways.
Anyway, this might be all worthless anyway--did Mondo or NECA ever specify that the figures were specifically based on first appearance only, or Mirage in general? Cause the proportions and look of the Turtles changed pretty drastically over the Mirage run. The figures could even be an average of all those looks, an amalgam, in which case arguing for "accuracy" would be completely pointless.
