Sure it's round but you could easily plop the head on a more masculine robot and it wouldn't seem out of place, like Shockwave it literally doesn't have enough features to put it squarely in either camp. for me what determines the light I view it is hip and shoulder width. What makes Shockwave more masculine than feminine isn't his incredibly masculine featureless single eye, it's his relatively wide shoulders and narrow hips, but if you were to start messing with those proportions that would change pretty quickly
Now I'm gonna get off this topic because it's kinda retarded and obviously there's a lot more wiggle room with robot designs than you would have with humans
