>>10373970>disney makes their money from films and parksAnd that somehow means Star Wars is making bank? WUT?
You can literally see how each sequel movie sold less than the previous one in HUGE drop offs. First one was pretty damn impressive with over 900million, but the next one made a little over 600million. They lost a THIRD of their fanbase from one sequel to the next. The next sequel lost 20% of the remaining audience.
This is failing.
Nevermind movie theaters keep about 50% of the gross sales in the United States. So Disney basically keeps 450million instead of 900million. And $450million goes off to paying off the debt they incurred by making the money. So those $450million turns in $100 million, because it cost over $300million to produce.
ONE HUNDRED MILLION is basically all Disney made... without counting marketing (usually equel to the budget of the movie). Nevermind the interest they're paying
Yeah, these movies also made money overseas, but they're keeping less of the gross revenue than they do in the US. Sometimes as little as 10%
So how can you claim the Star Wars franchise isn't failing, when all facts say it's on a decline? They're not magicking up the movies from thin air like Palpatine made the Super Duper Star Destroyers in Rise of Skywalker. Star Wars Land at the parks cost a ton of money to make, so they definitely haven't made their money back from that, and from all accounts, it's not a popular section in the park either. Same with the Star Wars Hotel.
And all signs point toward the new season of Mando also halving it's audience from previous seasons.
Nevermind all those canceled movies and Star Wars becoming a niche streaming service series
Toy sales dropped hard and we can literally see how little is selling today based on it's Snap Ships tier shelf space
So where's that staying power if every single aspect of the Star Wars property has declined year after year after year since 2015? Do you have single fact to back up your delusions?
