>>10330883If Retro Collection wasn't completely botched in terms of distribution and if they hadn't cocked up so many of the character designs / loadouts, there's no reason why 1/18 and 1/12 couldn't have co-existed. Hell, Target has a rack for the ReAction series right alongside the Classified Series. How the hell does Super7 have better distribution than Hasbro did for their own 1/18 figures?
Retro Collection was about as much of a mixed bag as it gets. Most of it was cobbled together from 25A and movie figures which does and doesn't work, depending on the figure. There are some really stupid mistakes and omissions, too. Baroness's pistols are repurposed from Rise of Cobra and have pegs for holstering them to her hips, but she has no peg holes on her hips, and they didn't give her any holsters at all. She comes with an attaché case to carry her pistols and SMG in (it has cutouts for the nanite warheads from Rise of Cobra, because it's the same mold), and a grapple hook that nobody cared about. Destro comes with a break apart sniper rifle that fits in a suitcase and has no pistol /secondary at all. They should have given Destro the SMG and smaller attaché case and put bombs or money in it, and given Baroness the sniper rifle. It's easy enough to swap but it doesn't solve the problem of Baroness having pistols and no way to holster them.
I've already whined about Snake Eyes in past threads having either the wrong mask or the wrong costume/loadout (depending on how you look at it). Roadblock is a similar hodge podge of different looks, and has no tripod for his M2. Duke and Scartlett were the two figures I put in the "these suck, don't buy them" category though. They're irredeemably bad, and straight downgrades to their past releases. The only reason to buy Duke is if you want a helmet that fits on Pursuit of Cobra Duke's head, he's a piece of shit. As for Scarlett, just look at her. Her body is a sloppy repaint of Shooter and she's a disaster.
