Walmart has decided to save on shipping costs at a time when shipping is extremely expensive and instead is testing out a plan to get these out through local channels like delivery from store and store pick up or just plain old walk ins. I was there day 1 for Parallax and it actually did have "shipping" as an option. I selected that and by the end of the day it was changed to my surprise on Walmart's end to "delivery from store".
You can say Todd wants to do right by the fans and he probably does, but Todd's company is at the mercy of the almighty dollar like any other toy company (if less so than Hasbro), which is why even though fans hate exclusives across the board, Todd has to take these exclusive contracts in the first place. And Todd gets no say in how an exclusive figure gets distributed once he sends it to his retail partner. How it gets sold to consumers, that is Walmart's decision.
