>>9850471The costumes in the movie weren’t as bad as you think. The designers did a great job with most of them. There are tons of details and subtle colors that just didn’t translate well on film because the definition and lighting they used.
If you take away the sheer fabric and look at the armor of her costume, it’s not much different than the fantasy style bathing suit the original toys wore. There’s definitely purple highlights all throughout her costume, they just unfortunately come off as black on film. There’s also in interesting snake motif that’s too detailed and shiny for the film to pick up also.
