Just recently I was considering the Imperial Flagship. With 8 gun ports and four guns she would be classified under the British Royal Navy rating system as a sloop-of-war. Her length is 65 studs from bow to stern, and her beam is 16 studs. This yields a length to beam ratio of 4.06, which is not unreasonable. At a 1:50 scale the ship would have a real life length of 85.25 feet and a beam of 21 feet.
This compares quite well with the HMS Beagle, a Cherokee-class sloop-of-war which had a length of 90.3 feet, a beam of 24.5 feet, and a length to beam ratio of 3.69. The Beagle had 10 gun ports and 6 guns during its 1826 to 1830 survey voyage. So, it's a favorable comparison overall.
