If you had ever read a comic, especially anything with Carnage or Venom, they do a really good job at explaning shit and having entire pages showing how the costumes work.
But please, keep thinking panel 5 from page 18 proves you right and that covers aren't there to catch a reader's eye by exaggerating the contents of teh book (if they aren't gmmick of the months featuring Wolverine on every title despite not appearing in the book itself because $$$))
