I want these to be legit Barbies though, because they look really good.
Outfits that are simple but versatile, dolls that are racially diverse but still attractive, and what appears to be a petite made to move in a new pale skin tone.
This is what Barbie needs to be right now. Not the overdesigned clusterfuck of the Extra line, not the shapeless gaudy clownery of BMR1959, not the “generic feminist slogan t-shirt dress” of the fashionistas.
These are clearly “budget”, but still pretty, which is why I initially thought they were too good to be true.
