Corn syrup and rubber tend to degrade quickly over time. So it's not a question as to if a stretch figure will break, but when. 70's era stretch collector do a lot to preserve their rare & expensive toys. The old corn syrup has to be removed. Styrofoam pellets are used to replace the syrup. The rubber has to be moisturized regularly to avoid drying out. No touching with bare hands. Etc.
That's alot to ask for collectors, even today. I just don't see that happening with GooJitZu figures down the road.
