Fun fact: the Hobgoblin Glider toy caused some controversy in the production of the show. Avi Arad was a Toybiz exec who got the rights to Spider-man cartoons and was apparently a greedy asshole who argued with the creative teams. He demanded that they make an episode with Hobgoblin and that they give him a separate gigantic glider so kids had to buy both. They made the toys first and the animation team had to come up with a two-part episode to show what the hell that glider was supposed to do (basically a commercial for the toy). Ultimately they hated those episodes and thought it messed up the timeline of the Green Goblin. But the toy was pretty cool for a kid to play with, so who cares. The show didn't have storyline discipline after season 2 anyway.
