It's like as they grew into adults, collectors lost the fun and joy of just finding a weird toy in a store and buying it because it looked fun, not because it fit into some great plan for their collection that they had to have 3 different versions of Nightwing, each to fit into one team or the other.
MOTU now that it's been back for awhile also kind of fills that slot although more often its fun and cheesy, which is its own appeal, rather than fun and cool. But it also has some cool designs.
