There are a few more things you will need:
Hobby knife (Scalpel style), either from hardware store or art store.
Pic related or similar, they really make things easier, from art store.
Spray can Primer.
Keep in mind the "glue" is plastic cement, you will only find it at a hobby store.
In theory you shouldn't require to varnish your model in order to apply a white spirit, but in practice you do, trust me, and a gloss varnish it's like a save point you can go bananas and clean it without fucking up your paintjob, it should be applied either in spray can or airbrush, I have seen people do it with brush, I wouldn't tho.
