His 300-sth page UK-timeline fanfic Eugenesis is still one of my favourite works and is probably just about as peak Roberts as his early run. If I told someone "Transformers killed off and ignored its main cast post-timeskip and therefore isn't worth watching", you would probably tell my victim that there's good parts nonetheless even if there's truth to this. Go by publishing order if you want to delve into it instead of/after reading Last Stand, a lot of the spotlights are short and are meant to draw you into the world.
