you really cannot exaggerate how commong 'fuck ugly uncanny alien' aesthetics were in the ots. I think these were specifically trying to ape Animorphs; not just the gimmick, the visual style too. Thats the vibe I always got.

Lucky for this thread, animorphs toys were also nasty looking. The "humans", anyways. The monsters were cool.
