No shame not understanding how 4chan works. Most of my irl friends in my age group and under don't understand it either.
Basically, /toy/ is like a forum board - there are lots of others accesable through the abbreviations in the top or bottom of the page (/a/, /c/, /g/, etc.)
You might be viewing /toy/ in a screenshot like the one on the left. This is the default and is ok, but the picture on the right is easier to navigate and lets you keep up with threads you like better and see more of them.
To access it you open the catalog - you should be able to find that with ctrl+f.
There are a couple of lego threads. Anything like /lg/ is a 'genera' thread. These keep boards from being overrun with small threads that would push others off the board. Its necessary on other boards but /toy/ is super low traffic and relaxed.
I hope this is helpful. If not, I hope it doesn't come off as babytalking or something. The best advice (often not given very nicely) is simply to lurk. You'll pick it up as you go.
Most of us have been trapped here for so long (please help) that its hard to imagine how disorienting the place was when we first got here. Cheers mate. Sorry your forums are slowing down, can relate with my miniature hobbies.
