Mostly intelligent use of diecast, good transformation, etc.
I was lucky and able to get mine decently repaired a few hours after that work in progress pic. Doesn't transform quiiite right because I tweaked the connector out of alignment [spoiler:lit]FROM VIOLENTLY BEATING IT WITH HEAVY PLIERS FOR SEVERAL HOURS[/spoiler:lit], but he's in better shape than he came in.
Still though, having to fix a piece this expensive straight out of the box is fucking bullshit.
