But seriously, I'm older than most of you I suspect and you can underestimate how much of post-war country certainly the UK was for decades on end, presumably others were like this too. Boomers weren't motivated by higher things, it was all Commando Comics, war films and the equivalents of GI Joe. "Airfix" fell naturally into that.
Its what I grew up with but in some ways I'm glad it has faded away, we couldn't go on like that forever although its a shame kids today don't know much about WW2 through what was more or less osmosis.
