I don't really concern myself with Minifig scale when building cars, because I want the proportions to look good foremost. I really like the philosophy of official Speed Champions sets, especially the 8 wide ones. If you think you can do better, show me better.
But having a bunch of connections that rely on hinges or rods and 1x2 jumper snot fuckery isn't any better and clipping and floating parts in a cadfag render.
That being said, the author is a great builder, I love the blue 1x2 curve slope flush with the perpendicular black 1x2 slope on the side here. That's smooth.
