Look, I don’t really care about “muh toyline is better than yours” bullshit, but as someone who collects MLs I’m going to make a rational case for them. While more resources go into the production and quality of an SHF, when you’re collecting the entire cast of characters of a movie, the lower price makes for the more economic choice, and getting an entire wave gets you a build a figure which are a nice bonus. The accessability of MLs for both collectors and kids alike means they’re popular enough to warrant a lot of focus towards vastly improving their quality while the price point remains the same. Recently they’ve introduced face printing technology which, while often hit-or-miss, can sometimes produce results superior to even SHFs(pic related for good example, Black Panther’s face for bad example). Some aspects of production can’t be focused on as much as they’d like to since they have to make sure the figures are in every fucking retailer in the United States MONTHS before the movie comes out so that kids and fans can have them during the movie hype fever, whereas the SHF have the benefit of coming out after. It would never be worth picking up all of the Infinity War SHFs to me since i think some anon said it’d be near $600? The MLs look pretty good(aside from Cap unfortunately) and are even doing the Black Order. I won’t disparage anyone for their choice of figures, we’re all adults who can go about informing our decisions based on the plethora of previews and reviews online so there’s no point caring what figure someone else buys; neither line is going to sink like the titanic if we don’t all flock to one company or the other.
