>>7453565Thats fair. I know the Gyan is a divisive design, with its many variants like the r-Gya-gya, Gyancalot and R-Jarja being more popular. And of course my like of it is, first and foremost, just a preference that might not have much in the way of logical reasoning behind it. But I'll try and explain what I like about it.
1. Simplicity
I'm a fan of a lot of the early suits, particularly Zeon units. The Qube is another example of that (Though My preference is for the Damned variant. Love those hands) as are all the amphibious suits like the Zgok Experiment type, the Gogg, even the Acguy. I like the cleanness of them, the flowing lines, the clear and pronounced overall shapes. I like the gyan's big spherical shoulders, the flared ankle armor, the strange mix of bulk and sleekness.
2. Weapons
I'm a fan of thrusting weapons, rapiers, spears, etc. They don't get nearly as much coverage as standard swords so I'm partial to his laser rapier thing. I also really like his giant, bulky shield that can shoot a variety of missiles. I like that combo of weapon and shield and the way it compensates for his otherwise melee focused design. Same reason I like the Gouf Custom and its Gatling gun shield.
3. Quality of kit
This isn't so much the design as the new revive HG kit. That kit is lovely. I have it sitting on my shelf in arms reach right now. Custom wrists and hand to allow trusting attacks, a very well designed shield attachment system that lets the gyan hold the shield in tons of different ways, tight joints, great possibility without sacrificing stability and becoming a fragile mess.
