>>6365444>I'm starting to feel anxious about it because the plastic beads on the seem start to look discolored. That happens sometimes, usually when you don't let the cement sit long enough before pushing the pieces together. FAG skin plastic actually welds pretty well, the color is perfect for hiding imperfections it seems. Here are are a few of mine and I'm not even that good. Pardon the camera work as I couldn't be assed to whip out my tripod but it should work well enough. Left to right:
Stylet done with Testors, don't recall if it was the thick or extra thin then topcoated. This was the first kit I seamwelded and it still came out okay.
Hamburger: Tamiya thicc, topcoated. I kind of half-assed that one and it's still alright though not great. Had I pressed the parts together or sanded more it would look better. I might do some more sanding actually, that'd take care of that crevice at the top.
Innocentia: straight snapfit, no glue or topcoat. This time for sure, though I'll have to remind myself to clean whatever residue that is out of the seam before I try to glue anything.
So it can work decently all depending, but ultimately you'll have to just jump in and weld something, I too found that testing glue on trees wasn't as helpful as I'd like.
