>>8791606i was a big fan of ninja gaiden on the og xbox, so being the halo fan i was at the time, got a nerd boner over hayabusa. this is also from the perspective of when i was much younger obviously since that was a long time ago. today i might think it was stupid.
Hayabusa is sort of hard for me to see from an objective standpoint, because I remember when the xbox360 was fresh and new, they added a mark 5 or 6 into dead or alive 4, along with cairo station from halo 2 as an unlockable stage. the fact that they used a campaign level for it just felt classy and if you havent seen it in action i highly suggest you watch this. This was also all locked behind you needing to finish the game with all the characters so it wasnt something the average person saw or knew about. i dont think the spartan was on the box or anything. There is a lot of detail here like interactive environment objects like the warthog and energy shields.
When I heard that halo was returning the favor and trying to put something related to ninja gaiden into halo 3, it was really cool at the time. Felt like microsoft was a big family of guys that respected eachothers accomplishments and who were on the "same side".
When hayabusa got used by squeakers and try hards it really killed it for me, because as i said before, being the fan that i was of halo and ninja gaiden, it really was pretty cool. but yeah i entirely agree, if every armor in halo 3 was like that it would have been retarded. it beinng a one off and a late game unlockable was important to halo still feeling like halo. having 90% normal armors and a few unusual ones i think is the right idea.
Anyway sorry for the long right up, a lot of people dont know the history behind hayabusa and i find the topic sort of fascinating because of the history behind it, and how in the end it was just the squeaker armor. its really funny in an ironic way.
