anon who watched beast machines reporting in for a verdict: it was a worthwhile watch
i definitely understand why it has a poor reputation, and as a sequel it leaves a lot to be desired. it definitely does its own thing (for a few reasons) but it's not like it spits in beast wars' face, it just goes in a different direction conceptually. and hey if you don't like it that's totally understandable
taken on its own it has some minor character arcs and some really poignant moments, like when tankor's spark is identified or strika & obsidian's reactions under a proposed maximal truce
it's basically a thought provoking hegelian dialectic that questions the historic concept of transformers itself stretched over 2 seasons, but that kinda interferes with its purpose as a commercial show and that obviously rubbed its core consumer base the wrong way
if any anons are curious about checking out beast machines, i'd recommend giving it a try if you aren't turned off by the core aesthetic of the show. i would HIGHLY recommend checking out the AI 1080p upscale, instead of a <720 decade old version like my dumb ass, as unlike 2D upscaling the 3D shows really benefit from it
