Of course she should ignore the prudishness of the design which is an all new level. You get the feeling it's meant to hide her curves and the idea that bare legs are taboo feels like something out of the 19th century.
Seriously, her 200x costume was the perfect update. Why not use that. Are we really back in the victorian era with standards of women's dress?
The only way I'd be OK with the Revelations outfit is under certain contexts of her being retired (which could explain the plainess as she keeping a low profile) and she later switches to a traditional design when she gets back in action. But I don't think that's what is going on.
