However, I'm glad Drive's habit of kitbashing has allowed us to get so much of the active main cast. It's a bit of a monkey's paw for the Roidemudes, but I love Drive's aesthetic and the characters enough to not mind it. I'm happy that Brain was held in enough regard to get an SHF released alongside the new SHF of the popular Zangetsu.
Also, I checked out the Glasses Blade in detail. I was curious about the differences and I'm a little surprised. The grip's different, which I didn't notice. I can only think of two reasons why: 1) The silver part below the guard has a fire symbol, which may have been too Ghost-like? or 2)Tamashii Nations didn't have an existing Drive hand that could hold the grip and didn't want to produce a new one. So they removed the original grip and gave it the most basic, uncomfortable looking grip I've ever seen. They plugged up the Eyecon slots, which is actually accurate to the special. Figured they reused a version of the Sunglasseslasher prop that didn't have moving parts that would interfere with action scenes. Surprised Tamashii Nations took the effort to properly reflect that. It's a shame though. Would have been fun to have play feature on the SHF. Alternatively, should Brain ever return on screen, it would have been fun to see Eyecons kitbashed into some weird buggy shaped Shift Cars. "Definitely not Eyecons," as Brain would probably say. Oh well.
Now the strangest part: the silver backside of the blade is nee! I checked the Deep Slasher, and it's the same as the Sunglasseslasher. Brain's sword is given so little screentime and barely any shots hold onto it for longer than a second.
Oh, and the sword blade is glued down. So you can't even makeshift a gun using Sunglasseslasher or Deep Slasher parts. Such a shame they won't let you have fun with a joke sword.
