Hey /SMG/ I've traveled from /tg/s /hwg/ thread seeking advice. I do some pulp wargaming in the back of beyond, set in the 1920s and have recently been acquiring 1/48 scale biplanes for my air support. I've built and painted wargameing models for many years, but this is my first real dive into model airplanes since I was very young.
And I have discovered that I fucking hate building model biplanes. Do any of you guys have any advice on how to put the wings together properly and easily? Getting the top and bottom wing to line up on the 8 to 10 struts is mind numbingly frustrating, and I probably spend more time fighting with that than I do on any other part of the kit. And then spend more time repairing them as they inevitably pop the fuck off while I'm working on the model. I love airplanes and I want to get more, but goddamn this is the most challenging thing I've tackled in a long time. Pic related, my WIP Japanese agony and my Chinese warlord Jenny.
