Its slightly more reasonable for consoles that have a longer lifespan, but those are subject to the availability of materials, which became a huge problem for tech in the pandemic. Then there's the it makes it hard to decide how many copies of a game to make when a company doesn't know how many consoles are actually being played and how many are rotting in a garage.
With toys its another can of worms.
