Or shorten the barbell. Which is hard but possible, I did it to fit a marauders head into one of these zombie lab guys. I cut the plastic drilled tiny holes in each ball with my dremel to put a metal "dowel"in there to give glue more to hold onto.
It worked out but I'm still not sure how fragile my neck joint is, so I don't remove his head in fear it will break and have a ball in each socket and no way to get it out
