>>8474375Not exactly true. They kept many of the same toy designers, and had guys who worked on the original Star Wars line working with the company up right thru to today. They downsized Kenner, because it was part of Hasbro, but kept the guys who made the toys and allowed them to handle G.I. Joe extreme, hoping that Kenner could revive Joe, but it flopped and that was pretty much Kenner's last real time doing anything. They basically existed in name only after that.
With G.I. Joe extreme they made a number of fuck ups: They changed the scale and made them large 5POA figures that weren't compatible with any of the older figures, but a number of people gave them a chance-- the big problem they had however was a lack of villains. There was zero troopers in the line, and three different figures of Iron Claw, and only one other villain, so you only had two bad guys! And many of the other bad guys were saved for series 2, along with the rest of the Joe team, but series 2 was cancelled instead of giving the line a chance, since series 2 would have been where the line really got good.
