They aren't interested in what else could be made or remade, just rapidly reaching as many consumers as possible who are priced out by brand names. That is why fashion items are so often imitared.
The market may or may not sustain a flood of low-supply items that are currently out of production. Their logic is probably that if the big names pulled out of a trend there is no point in dumping resources into it. Why take that risk?
The people making those decisions aren't in touch with the communities they sell to. They don't need to be to make a profit, but they might be more successful if they were.
