Zayre will forever be etched in my memory as the only store that carried pic related. Then they both disappeared. I think the one in my area became a Kohl's department store.
I also have vague memories of Woolworth, mostly of their aquariums and getting rainbow sherbet and bubble gum ice cream cones from the lunch counter.
