For years I never really understood the idea that women don't get surgery, do make up, dress slutty etc for other women and not men. It makes sense though when its not all other women, just WASP women. They want to be accepted by generic stacys.
Men don't even care. In the 1870s men openly lusted for "La belle juive." The problem is the expectation from men that their wife will adopt his religion, and that other women will continue to reject her much like black women reject white women that marry black men, etc. Women hate outside women that look better than them. Hate.
