A sculptor is known for providing X and their employer expects that X quality every single time. If they don't, they're unlikely to get more work.
McFarlane Toys is known for they're detailed work and it's not like skimping on detail would make molding less expensive, because even their cheapest of shit has always had high quality detail.
What they actually cheap out on is paint and articulation when they need to.
