Times were different, media was different, there wasn't thousands of anime choices and concepts like there are now and now it's completely oversaturated. The stakes were escalated quickly in z from the original db series. Super is fucking great and followed the same formula, and if you haven't noticed super, daima, new movies, all pull elements from the original arcs and introduces and retells them in new updated concepts or alternative ways. Super is fucking awesome and you're opinion is shit. Z is awesome obviously, most people love that more because nostalgia, it came first, and its the fucking best anime of all time. But hating Super is like hating Z, they're the same fucking franchise. You faggots who wanna pick and choose shit like you can just "a la carte" sections of the IP are fucking morons, dragon ball - dragon ball z - dragon ball gt - dragon ball super - dragon ball heroes - dragon ball daima - all the movies, are all apart of the same family love it or hate it. You can lie to yourself and create whatever headcanon argument you want to try to seperate them or pretend some of them dont exist, but sorry they're all great in their own ways and all important in their own ways. Black arc was awesome, the tournament of power, alternate universes, ultra instinct. If you can't find one thing you liked about super, honestly, you're retarded lol.
