If you were dead you couldn't do anything. There's nothing fake about enjoying seeing designs you like turned into nicely detailed figures. There's just more to life. You know it and you'll decide what part of that "more" you wish to experience in due course.
Think about it and keep thinking about it, just like you think about your figure purchases (Do I like this character? Would I like them as a figure? Is the price worthwhile? Would I prefer different features? etc.) and use those happy time derived from your hobby, that better mentality in those moments with which to think, to decide what else you'd like to pursue. It may feel like you're never going to find it, but you'd never find it if you were dead anyway.
And most important of all, since toys are your greatest joy at the moment, if you die you'll never see how far toys would have gone in your time.
