Hey all, I just got my bootlegged Shizue on Thursday and I haven’t had time to sit down and really look her over until today. Here’s my review with some pictures that will hopefully help those sitting on the fence decide whether to get her or not. Please note that I don’t have the official figure to compare and bootlegs tend to vary in quality and problems. So this is just my opinion based on the Shizue I got.
This is my first (known) bootleg figure that I’ve owned. While I’m usually against such things, Shizue has only been released twice in very limited quantities for an exorbitant price on a Japanese site that’s not easy for us dirty gaijin to navigate. And now that she’s going for over $300 on the secondary market, it looked nearly impossible to obtain her. But thankfully communist China has stepped in to fill a capitalist niche with their cheap fake copies. But there’s always a Faustian catch when dealing with China bootlegs. The quality is just not as good as the real deal. But when the real figure is hard to find and usually over $300, most people can overlook the dip in quality for $30 available on the usual sites, such as TaoBao & eBay.
