It's not a spring loaded ratchet joint though, it's just one of those plastic ratchet joints that relies on the flexibility of whatever the fuck they're using as a pawl to work, and I guess the left part just wasn't flexible enough to last.
It would be a pretty easy fix since those parts can just come out and theoretically be replaced with something else, but the hip joints work as friction joints pretty well and hold weight just fine so eh fuck the ratchets I'll leave them out.
