I've tried a couple of different designs myself but feel like they get floppy real fast. For my latest project I've tried spring loaded ratchets for the hips and knees. The ankles, ankle guards and neck use ball/sockets printed in Flex PLA and the shoulders/elbows use hobby base/bandai joints I've glued into place. So far the "real" injection molded ones are the only ones that haven't gone floppy on me yet.
