>>9301152>And people that have to buy online only a $350 year and a half pre-order is?Yes? More people collect exclusively through online in the last several years than at any other time, especially with the advent of Bluefin and other official import services, as well as stuff like Pulse. Not to mention distro being fucked and covid preventing or making buying stuff in store a nightmare. This has been the norm for basically everything but Hasbro stuff and I don't think any average collector buys only from a single line or company anymore, save for 40yr old whale types.
>you have never been to any conventions, nor do you have any experience with the friends and networks that grow from the business and storefronts that work thereI have though? The cons aren't happening because of covid, not because hasbro is trying to dismantle the fan community. If you are complaining about the death of the con then possibly if you want to stretch and ignore that cons couldn't fucking happen for the last 2 years, but the amount of people who talk about these toys and collect them online is much, much, much bigger than the small amount of people going to regional cons.
