>carefully mix the mud and make different tones and shines to make mud somewhat interesting>it dries satin at best where I wanted it to be wet the mostWell at least it looks interesting and textured, I hope some varnish will wet the tracks more rather than having to waste my precious wet effects fancy shit on them again
>>7387154Badger for me desu. As for your questions I did some experiments earlier last year quite related:
>does anyone know if nail polish can be used?Yeah it's just rather thicc lacquer paint but try on some spoons. I did some tests with multichrome color-shifting ones and worked really well but the grain size of the pigments might be quite coarse even if they flow fine they just look odd on a scale model.
>maybe if the flakes were small enough? If they can pass though the nozzle and are well thinned of course but odds are they are too big.
>is it possible to use glitter with paints?similar answer to the previous one. One thing you can do is use metallic/shinny powders and mix it to get the glitter effects on scale and hairbrushable.
>why did you do that?I started painting my 1/24 merc amg gt on a blue metallic multichrome as muh first car and I wanted some kind of challenge as the car pretty much builds itself (based tamiya) so I decided to create my own "buff-able metallic airbrush paint" which kinda worked on tests but I can't see a benefit over buffing pigments straight from the jar. When I go back to the car I'll decide if further development of the mix is worth it and make big bux or just rub'n'buff like a sucker to get that grain free finish
>>7388535Not that anon but I can see "Echelon decals" printed on them
