Here in North Jersey they were the only game in the big box retailer market for the most part after Caldor and Bradleys died;; I guess target and Wal-mart were in state but they didn't really spread until the 2000s. So besides TRU, most of my Beast Wars and RiD/UT figures came from Kmart and KB Toys. My K-mart was always ok up until the last 8 years or so, but that goes for most retailers really. A lot of fond memories discovering the Transmetals for the first time at K-mart, or my sister taking me on Fridays to the shopping plaza with Kmart/KB to pick out a toy. It was also the only place I found a few things, like the Unicron head bonus Primus.
