Shoulder pads had their metal parts replaced with a soft plastic that vastly increases the range of motion. The unmasked head is painted differently, personally I prefer the one from the original.
Tragically enough I've often considered rolling the dice on a second metallic version in the hopes I can piece one good figure together out of both sets, the paint is absolute gorgeous. The regular release is much more faithful to Granov's artwork, however.
