Originally planed as a partial retooling of the Buzzworthy Origin Bumblebee, but the engineer(s) figure out how to make a deluxe figure out of 3 sets of tooling/runners that would nominally be allocated to a 5 to 6 tooling/runners total for a Deluxe. So you think they whore that guy out, but they don't. One anon here speculated it was paint apps and screws as they went more overboard with him than other figures so they couldn't just make him in high volume
