>>6490197>your problem begins here, should have used white ones, if at allNah m8, I've taken enough time to compare all sorts of colors and black is certainly what better resonates with my room. I think this was also discussed in another thread but, even though they're obviously better in terms of lighting, there's just something about a white case that looks way too bland and industrial, whereas a color like black or brown can easily blend in with the rest of the decor. Pic related is a good example of black Billy's as a collection display, also using Morliden glass doors.
>the one from your pic has glass floors so you'd have to put light into each individual shelf unitI did notice that, but the thing is, there are also plenty of pics of Billy's with glass floors (like this one, for instance). Since you seem to know your IKEA stuff, do you have any idea about what kind of glass shelves are these? Also, judging by most pics, putting lights into each individual opaque shelf often looks a little fancier than just having an overhead one, even if it's also more expensive. I wouldn't mind spending extra buckos for that, my main issue here is how complicated this would be to set up.
>you should have gone for some other glass cases, you know they actually have them (DETOLF, FABRIKÖR), do you?I do have a pair of Detolfs around my storage, actually. They're fine for displaying large solo stuff like MPs and city bots but they're also tiny in terms of space and apparently, you have to modify them to add extra floors. I have about ~500 TFs I want to display without looking like a clusterfuck, so getting three large Billy's plus an extra corner one felt like a better investment in that regard.
