And what about Amy Chow, who is certainly the first and so far only Asian-American gold medal gymnast in the Olympics. Why hasn't she gotten a doll if she broke the boundaries of her race?
And let's not forget Gabby's fellow teammate, Laurie Hernandez, who is the first Latin-American on the team and won a silver. Where's this boundary breaker's doll? Or does no one care that you broke a racial boundary if you came in second?
Giving Gabby a doll simply because of her skin pigmentation and won a gold medal is pretty damned racist. Especially when you ignore gymnasts like Chow & Hernandez who broke boundaries in their own respective races.
