>>7776611The matoran versions of the toa metru were downright precious. Jaller's voice was unforgivable though, as were most of the first film deaigns and toa in general. They tried to fit Gali/Nokama into this Disney hourglass that just didn't work right, the mouths were relatively fucked, the masks were fucked up as result, the eyes looked like they were perpetually bleeding and/or full of tomato soup: horrifying. But, having the designs be exactly like the toys would have been risky, even if we ignore articulation/expression issues; it would risk being like the new animations/ninjago/lego movie animations, overly childish, especially with how the characters would stand out from their likely non-lego environment. Ideally, using something like the style of Samurai Jack would be the way to go. Really anything Gendy would work.
