In that respect I think this is also why franchises like the turtles or star wars have also endured. The further you distance your franchise from average people the more easily translated it becomes. So my personal theory is that to some extent, MOTU lacks some of that. If MOTU were to join the ranks of the evergreen brands I mentioned earlier my personal take is that it wouldnt have to appeal to the Chinese market, but the South American and Indian markets instead. And the funny thing is that MOTU is kind of big in both markets.
