>>7424273Our hopes might not matter at this point. If I'm being honest I want SW to die - it has stopped catering to me so then what good does do to me if it continues?
Further down that logic train - it occupies space that could potentially be filled with things that I might enjoy - but because it exists those things can't come about.
That being said - I would not want the old SW things to disappear, even though they are no longer relevant to me, I was there once and feel for those who still like/want them.
I do not know how much sway on kids the new films have but I reckon they're much less important to kids today than the originals were to kids in the 80s. Partly because of bad quality and partly because there's just SO MUCH stuff out there the attention of kids is now spread 1000 times more than it used to be.
Star Wars is no longer new, fresh or revolutionary. They could have tried doing that with the new trilogy but they opted for more of the same.

More and more things that tangentially touch space as a concept are being pushed out, and I believe it's an indication of Lego gauging the market's response.
