Finally got my metal robot spirits knight gundam today, I had a feeling I knew what I was getting but didn't quite expect this, still for 11,000yen+shipping (so works out right on rrp) I can't complain.
For starters I rushed into it thanks to figinstock, when I checked after the order the description was in japanese, google said something about dirty tray and there was 2 pics of the chrome on the sword, kinda looked damaged.
It was alot worse than that but pics can't do justice because my room has perma mood lighting but bare with me, when I thought was pure plastic that was the actual knight's armor is painted but either the surface was contaminated or the plastic was damaged BEFORE paint application because some areas look rough rough as guts, as for the sword it wasn't damaged they fucked up at the factory, either a hair got stuck on it or they put too much on, thankfully just one side was affected.
Still I fell in love with it since dwg3 and I couldn't be happier, its not the first time I got a fucked up figure from mandarake (the first was a transformers mp with a large paint chip for right on rrp+shipping), but after handling the ex-s MR it feels almost like paper weight wise.
I now ask, how much stress would diecast need to finally fail as a joint, they should have just kept the diecast to the feet and lower legs rather than the joints, I'm fine with him standing there but floppy joints in years time isn't any fun.
And how long until the musha gundam comes up, I'm not playing russian roulette again
